Can you be arrested over a Video Call (TOI)

The impudence of these scammers, for impersonating Police Officers (for we refuse to believe that there is any actuality in them) - causing fear and intimidation amongst the unsuspecting public!!

Never fall for these fraudulent tactics, their sole purpose being to strong-arm you into paying a 'penalty / fine' for allegedly 'illegal activities', whether it be for 'updation of PAN in your electricity records' or 'material intercepted at Mumbai being illegal (drugs etc.)'.

Let us be clear that even the Enforcement Directorate or Customs Department cannot arrest anyone over a video call, unless there is an identified officer (with valid identification -ID) is physically present in front of you!!

As this advertisement states "VERIFY IDENTITIES BEFORE SHARING ANY PRRSONAL INFORMATION. FILE A COMPLAINT AT WWW.CYBERCRIME.GOV.IN" - STAY ALERT!
